The East Newark 21st Century Community Learning Center is an after school program geared towards our 3rd through 8th grade students. It is designed to enhance the lives of our students, their parents and our community through diverse and creative experiences beyond the normal school day. This collaborative learning environment provides students with academic enrichment and activities that encourage hands-on and creative experiences such as Latin Dance, Karate, Arts and Crafts, Robotics, and Cooking to name a few. Some of our collaborators such as Arts for Kids, Amorsi’s Mixed Martial Arts, and Chef It Up. This year, we are excited to announce our partnership with AfterSchool All Stars, further expanding our program's opportunities and impact.
This after-school enrichment program will:
- offer students the opportunity to immerse themselves in academic-rich activities to provide enriching and collaborative learning experiences
- meet the Common Core State Standards in core academic subjects
- create a supportive environment for students during the after-school hours
- offer workshops and educational events for families of participating students
