Mission Statement
The East Newark School District’s mission is to provide every student with a strong educational foundation aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards, empowering each learner to reach their full potential.

Philosophy

Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to nurture intellectual, social, and emotional growth. We believe students should understand their abilities, embrace their unique talents, and become responsible citizens who make informed decisions and appreciate diversity. We aim to instill a lifelong love of learning and provide a solid base for future academic and professional success.

District Overview & Demographics

The East Newark School District serves students in grades K through 8 within a single school building. The district offers full-day preschool through a private provider, All Seasons ChildCare and Learning Center.  It is classified as a District Factor Group "A" district, representing communities with the highest level of socioeconomic need. The student population is predominantly Hispanic or Latino, making up approximately 88.8% of the total enrollment. Smaller percentages of students identify as White (7.8%), Black (1.7%), and Asian (1.3%). The current school building, originally opened in 1896 to replace temporary classes held in a chapel, still stands today. While it has been fully renovated, it continues to serve the district’s K–8 students with a blend of historic character and modern upgrades.

  • Respectful: Treat others how they want to be treated.

  • Organized: Follow instructions, take turns, and stay ready.

  • Unified: Work together as a supportive community.
